Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punkish style. The group wasn't successful on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford started a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She took vocal lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for a decade. The smash hit 'Lita' was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success was only short lived and for several years after, she went under the radar. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
